Terms

CoffeeChat introduces professionals who then meet in person, over coffee. We are a way of finding each other and agreeing a time — we are not a party to what happens at the table.

This is a beta

CoffeeChat is early and free. Features will change, screens will move, and things will occasionally break. We do not promise the service will be available, uninterrupted, or free of errors, and we may change or withdraw any part of it. If we ever start charging, we will tell you first and you will not be billed for anything you did not agree to.

Your account

• You need to be at least 16, and you need a verified email address.
• One account per person. Use your real name and a truthful profile — the whole thing rests on people being who they say they are.
• Keep your password to yourself. Anything done from your account is treated as done by you.

Meeting people is your decision

We do not run background checks and we do not vet members beyond verifying an email address. Deciding whether to meet someone, where, and when is yours alone. Meet in public, during opening hours, and tell someone where you are going.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for what happens when members meet, for anything a member says or does, or for any loss arising from a connection made here. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

How to behave

Do not use CoffeeChat to:

• Harass, threaten, impersonate, or make anybody feel unsafe.
• Treat it as a dating app, a lead list, or a channel for unsolicited sales pitches. It is for professional conversation.
• Scrape it, automate it, resell access to it, or try to get at data that is not yours.
• Post anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the right to share.

What you write stays yours. You give us only the permission needed to store it and show it to the members you sent it to.

Ending it

You can stop at any time and ask us to delete your account — see the privacy page for how. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks the rules above, or that makes the service worse for everybody else. If your behaviour put someone at risk, we will act without warning.
